WEST DES MOINES, Iowa - An area grocery chain is recalling several of it's products.

Hy-Vee announced it was recalling two varieties of cream cheese spread, and its bulk-packaged cookies and cream mix due to potential Salmonella contamination.

Manufactured at various third-party facilities across the Midwest, these products are sold under Hy-Vee’s private label and bulk packaging programs.

The decision to recall was prompted by notification from the manufacturers, although there have been no confirmed adverse reactions reported.

The affected items were distributed to Hy-Vee, Hy-Vee Drugstore, Dollar Fresh Market locations, and Hy-Vee Fast and Fresh convenience stores across eight states.

Hy-Vee has removed all affected products from its shelves and urges customers who purchased them to either dispose of the items or return them to their local Hy-Vee store for a full refund.
