CLARINDA, Iowa - The Lied Public Library in Clarinda will be hosting a community conversation on how to amplify the inclusivity of their programs, specifically in regard to those who struggle with hearing impairments, after receiving a grant from the American Library Association for the Libraries Transforming Communities.

Library Director Andrew Hoppman says that this conversation's goal is to brainstorm ideas that can be implemented into their services and give an outlet to voice concerns regarding accessibility.

By using the grant, the library aims to purchase technology that will amplify sounds for those who do not have full hearing function.

The conversation will be held at the library at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 30. The public is encouraged to attend to determine the best usage of the funds.
