MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Maryville R-2 School District has had a bustling week, wrapping up the school year while also celebrating two significant groundbreaking ceremonies.
The first ceremony was the Maryville High School football stadium on May 21, marking the beginning of an overhaul to the high school's athletic fields, while the second ceremony was on May 22 on the front lawn outside Eugene Field Elementary School.
Superintendent Dr. Logan Lightfoot says they're hoping work is completed by August, although it will be disrupting summer school.
The construction work is thanks to a no-tax-increase bond issue that was passed with more than 66% in favor this past April.KXCV-KRNW
