MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Maryville R-2 School District is ushering in a new era with not one, but two groundbreaking ceremonies.

The groundbreaking is scheduled for next Tuesday at 11:30 a.m., at the Maryville High School Stadium. The project for the athletic fields is promising improved spaces for sports and recreation.

Following this, the spotlight shifts to Eugene Field Elementary next Wednesday at 11:40 a.m., where the school's front lawn will set the stage for another groundbreaking ceremony.

The school district says that the renovations at Eugene Field Elementary will not only benefit elementary students but also those attending the Maryville Early Childhood Center.

With remodeled entrances and exits, the district aims to meet modern safety standards for students, staff, and visitors. Both ceremonies are open to the public.
