Musical journey coming to Morton-James Public Library

NEBRASKA CITY, Neb. - The Morton-James Public Library will host speaker Chris Sayre for a presentation titled "Musical Journey Across America: Songs That Helped Shape a Nation" in the Kimmel Gallery.

Sayre will take the audience on a musical tour on Thursday, June 6 at 7 p.m.; from the sea shanties of the Atlantic Coast to the blues of the Deep South and the pioneer songs of the American West.

He performs using a variety of instruments including guitars, accordion, concertina, dulcimer, mandolin, and musical saw, offering a rich reflection of America's diverse musical heritage.

The event is funded by Humanities Nebraska, supported by the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Nebraska State Legislature, and private donations.
