MARYVILLE, Mo. - The city of Maryville is using a grant to clean-up a gas station that's been closed for nearly two decades.
The Brownfields Cleanup Grant, worth about $211,000, will help cleanup the old Aunt B's Carwash, which operated as a gas station from 1951 to 2005.
City Manager Greg McDanel says the city approved a contract with SCS Engineers to serve as the environmental consultants on site.
In addition to removing tanks and contaminants, grant funds will be used to hold two public meetings and other community outreach activities.
