ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The Rolling Hills Library of St. Joseph will be hosting their very first chess tournament on Saturday, June 8.
As partners with the U.S. Chess Federation (USCF), there will be a USCF-rated section as well as an open section for those of different ages and skill levels.
Librarian Bridgid Reeves is hoping that this tournament brings in a variety of people from the community, local schools and potentially brings in players from more urban areas such as Kansas City.
To register for the tournament, please visit the events page on the Rolling Hills Library website to find the registration form. Doors will open at 9 a.m., and tournament play will start at 10 a.m.KXCV-KRNW
