Conception Junction community welcomes school garden

CONCEPTION JUNCTION, Mo. - The Jefferson Elementary School is celebrating the enhancement of its community and school garden with the donation of new equipment.

The donation includes two apple trees, two pear trees, three galvanized raised beds, soil, plants, garden tools, two rain barrels, garden hoses, a wheelbarrow, and a wood garden shed.

This generous contribution, resulting from a collaboration between the University of Missouri Extension and the Missouri Department of Social Services, aims to promote sustainable gardening practices and provide fresh produce for the school cafeteria.

The funding was provided by the Community Services Block Grant to expand school and community gardens across the state.
