JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Gov. Mike Parson has signed an Executive Order that extends the State of Emergency in Missouri due to potential flooding along the Missouri River.

This extension follows the initial declaration on May 2, in response to severe weather. Gov. Parson emphasized the need to be prepared, noting the destructive flooding seen in neighboring states.

In a press release, he urged Missourians to stay informed and make necessary preparations.

The extended State of Emergency enables the state to assist local jurisdictions more effectively and is a crucial step for seeking federal disaster aid if needed.

The Executive Order is now set to expire on July 31, unless further extended.
