CLARINDA, Iowa - The Lied Public Library in Clarinda is excited to host a Dual Local Author Visit and Book Talk on Saturday, June 29th, at 1 p.m.

This event will feature beloved local authors Doris McKinnon and Emily Lawson. Doris McKinnon will present her works, including "Blessings of Laughter," "Echoes of Laughter," and her prayer book "Just a Little Talk with Jesus."

Her books offer captivating insights into her experiences growing up in Blanchard, during the 1930s and 1940s and the vibrant communities of Southwest Iowa.

Joining Doris is Emily Lawson, who will discuss her book "Cracks in My Cup: Biblical Reflections on Motherhood and Loss."

Emily's book explores her journey as a pastor's wife and mother of three, navigating parenting children with trauma and the unexpected loss of her father.

Emily and her family currently live in the Chicago area. Attendees can engage with both authors, have their books signed, and purchase copies at the event.
