JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Missouri Department of Conservation invites the public to enjoy frogging season, starting Sunday, June 30 at sunset and running through October 31.

With a fishing or small-game hunting permit, you can hunt for bullfrogs and green frogs. The daily limit is eight frogs, with a possession limit of 16. Froggers must adhere to daily limits on the water and banks.

If you catch your limit before midnight and want to continue frogging after midnight, you must first remove the previously caught frogs from the area.

Children 15 and under and Missouri residents 65 and older don't need a permit. Frogs can be caught using various methods, including hand nets, gigs, and fishing lines for those with a fishing permit.

Small-game hunting permit holders can use 22-caliber rifles, pellet guns, and bows, among other methods. Artificial light is allowed. For frogging recipes and more information, visit the MDC's website.
