CHILLICOTHE, Mo. - Four Missouri teens were injured in a car accident in Livingston County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 16-year-old boy from Chillicothe was driving a 2003 Chevy Tahoe eastbound on LIV 256, two miles west of Chillicothe.

Around 7:30 p.m. Sunday the SUV slid on gravel, veered off the road, and overturned, ejecting the driver. The teen driver was airlifted to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City with serious injuries.

A 13-year-old girl from Chillicothe was taken to Hedrick Medical Center with moderate injuries.

Two other passengers, a 14-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy, both from Chillicothe and with minor injuries, were taken to the hospital by a private vehicle.

The Highway Patrol noted that none of the occupants were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
