MARYVILLE, Mo. - Burnout is a very real thing in any field, including teaching.
The National Education Association actively advocates for more resources, funding, training and open dialogue around supporting the mental health of educators in addition to students.
The Maryville R-2 School District recently wrapped up its first year with their Employee Assistance Program, which includes, but is not limited to, free counseling sessions (phone or in-person), financial coaching, life coaching, and crisis support.
Superintendent Dr. Logan Lightfoot says he told the Maryville Board of Education that the district had a great user and success rate with the program.
The program is available to any Maryville R-2 School District employee and their families.
