Maryville chamber seeking nominations for annual banquet

MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Greater Maryville Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for its community awards, which will be presented at the Annual Banquet on September 19th.

The event will be held at the Mozingo Events Center, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. and dinner starting at 6 p.m. Tickets are $30 and must be purchased by August 30. 

The Chamber is accepting nominations for several awards.

The Fred Von Behren Good Citizen Award will recognize an individual who has shown exceptional dedication to community improvement through volunteerism, community service, or leadership in nonprofit organizations.

The Community Service Award will honor a service organization that has sponsored impactful community projects, provided immediate relief to those in need, continuously supported other community entities, or made a long-term impact on community betterment.

The 5 Under 35 Award will highlight five Nodaway County residents under the age of 35 who have made notable achievements in education, business, or community service.

The President’s Spearhead Award, an optional and not necessarily annual award, will be given to an individual who has demonstrated strong support of Chamber goals, actively participated in Chamber activities, and served as an example of excellence in the business community.

The Outstanding New Business Award will be presented to a business that opened within the last three years and has shown growth, performance, and innovative approaches.

The Outstanding Business of the Year Award, chosen from the Ambassador Business of the Month, will recognize a business that has demonstrated outstanding community support, provided superior products and customer service, built professional relationships, and fostered economic growth.
