OMAHA, Neb. - Flooding is anticipated across Missouri River in our area the coming days. National Weather Service (NWS) officials updated the flood situation during a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers conference call on Monday.

Flood warnings are in effect along the Missouri River following severe flooding in northwest Iowa.

A Meteorologist with the National Weather Service out of Pleasant Hill provided the latest river crest projections: Nebraska City at 25.2 feet on Thursday evening and Brownville at 42.5 feet on Friday night.

Officials are keeping an eye on the potential for rain throughout the week. Heavier rainfall forecasted for Friday could be a concern.

Right now, up to 2 inches of rain could fall over northern Missouri, coinciding with the river crest along the lower main stem.

Releases from the Gavin Points Dam in South Dakota will continue at 24,000 cubic feet per second until further notice.
