Nebraska City Bridge repairs and tracking device implementation to begin soon

NC City Council Meeting

Nebraska City will be making some changes in the upcoming weeks as they have recently made moves to repair the Steinhart Park Road Timber Bridge.

While the repairs will only be a temporary fix, City Administrator Perry Mader reported that they will be looking into permanent fixes in the near future. Alongside these repairs, the city is partnering with Project Lifesaver, an organization that provides tracking devices for individuals with autism and other mental disabilities. When Nebraska City locals came to the city with fears of disabled individuals wandering from home, the Nebraska City Police Department took action.

"We have the means and trained staff - trained police staff- to help parents or volunteers to track individuals.  I know they use the same tracking device with elderly dementia patients."

The Nebraska City Police Department will be beginning their training in the near future to start implementing these devices.
