Fur harvesting classes to be held in IA this week

DES MOINES, Iowa - The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is offering workshops across the state, including one in the KXCV/KRNW listening area, to teach trapping skills to beginners.

The hunter education classroom courses for the KXCV/KRNW area will be at the Southwest Iowa Sportsmans Club in Glenwood on Thursday, July 11 from 6 - 9 p.m., and Saturday, July 13 from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

These sessions will cover the basics of trapping in Iowa, including equipment, trap placement, regulations, and hide preparation.

Participants should dress for the weather as much of the class will be outdoors. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged. For more information and to register, visit the DNR's website.
