Iowa DNR seeking input on upcoming changes

DES MOINES, Iowa - The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is inviting informal comments on proposed changes to administrative rules for state parks and related programs.

The DNR has reviewed rules for all-terrain vehicles, off-road motorcycles, off-road utility vehicles, and snowmobiles, and has proposed revisions to eliminate redundancies and improve efficiency.

Public comments are welcome through July 19. Feedback should be emailed to Jessica.Flatt@dnr.iowa.gov.

The DNR will then draft a Regulatory Analysis and a Notice of Intended Action, with a formal public comment period and hearing set for September 2024. Detailed versions of the rules can be found on the DNR website.
