JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey has demanded records from the St. Joseph School Board following allegations of misconduct during the campaign for a $20 million bond issue passed in April.
Bailey's office says it has received "disturbing allegations" suggesting violations of several laws, including the Sunshine Law.
Bailey is requesting records from all meetings this year, both open and closed, and information about any agreements or financial arrangements with the Community Action Partnership of Greater St. Joseph.
His office is also seeking financial records related to the bond issue and personnel policies regarding conflicts of interest. More than 65% of St. Joseph voters approved the $20 million bond issue this past April.
