JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Missouri Gov. Mike Parson recently signed into law the Veteran Omnibus Bills, Senate Bill 912 and House Bill 1495, which task the Missouri Veterans Commission with creating a new program to prevent Veteran suicide.

This new Veterans Mental Health Program will join MVC’s existing Veterans Homes, Veterans Cemeteries, and Veterans Service programs.

The MVC is working on a timeline for the program's rollout, with an annual report first due on July 1, 2025.

The MVC will collaborate with the Missouri Department of Mental Health to provide recommendations and adopt necessary procedures to prevent Veteran suicide.
