JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - With the primary election approaching on August 6, Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft is highlighting key dates and information to ensure voters are prepared.

Mail-in voting is already underway and the last day to register to vote is Wednesday, July 10. No-excuse in-person absentee voting starts on July 23 with a photo ID, and the final day to request an absentee ballot by mail is July 24.

On Election Day, a photo ID is required to vote, but provisional ballots can be cast without one.

Voters are encouraged to review ballot measures ahead of time, with full petition language available on the Secretary of State's website, in statewide papers, and at polling locations.

Ashcroft emphasizes the crucial role of local election authorities, who manage voter rolls, ballot printing, absentee ballots, polling locations, and poll workers.

After the election, authorities tally and report the results, then verify and submit certification reports to the Secretary of State within two weeks.
