MSHP: Elderly driver seriously injured in wreck

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says an elderly Kansas City man was seriously injured in a Clinton county wreck.

The Patrol says 85-year-old Dannie Cornwell was driving a 1999 Lincoln Continental on Interstate 35, just south of Cameron.

At 1:50 p.m. Monday, the vehicle began to brake for an unknown reason and slide off the road, striking a guardrail. Cornwell, who was wearing a seatbelt, was taken to Liberty Hospital with serious injuries.
