At 8:20 p.m. Saturday, a 2009 Toyota Matrix, driven by a 16-year-old female from Trenton, failed to negotiate a curve while traveling northbound.
The vehicle veered off the road, overturned, traveled through a barbed wire fence, and came to rest on its wheels.
The crash resulted in serious injuries to a 14-year-old female passenger, who was ejected through the passenger side window. She was airlifted to Children's Mercy Hospital by LifeFlight Eagle.
A 15-year-old female passenger sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Wright Memorial Hospital. The driver suffered minor injuries and refused medical treatment at the scene.
