One seriously injured in three-vehicle crash

ambulance emergency

MARYVILLE, Mo. - In Nodaway County, a three-vehicle collision occurred on 136 Highway east of Neon Road over the weekend.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash involved a 2014 Nissan Versa, a 2013 Volkswagen Passat, and a 2009 Kia Optima.

The incident began at 7:20 p.m. Friday when the Volkswagen, driven by 33-year-old Cody Runde of Ravenwood, slowed to make a left turn into a private driveway.

57-year-old Rose Miller of Maryville, driving the Kia, stopped behind the Volkswagen. The Nissan, driven by 21-year-old Jacole Hunzinger, also from Maryville, failed to stop in time and struck the Kia from behind.

The impact caused the Nissan to cross the center line and hit the Volkswagen. A passenger in Hunzinger's car, 53-year-old Jonathan Bliley of Stanberry, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Mosaic Medical Center in Maryville.
