emergency

BOLCKOW, Mo. - The Missouri State Highway Patrol says two people are dead after a single-vehicle crash in Andrew County.

The Patrol says 70-year-old Christie Petersen of Sheridan, Missouri was driving a 2006 Dodge Caravan on U.S. Highway 71, about 22 miles south of Maryville.

At 10:15 a.m. Saturday, the Dodge travelled off the road, struck an embankment, became airborne, struck a roadway sign and overturned after impacting the ground.

Petersen, and 47-year-old passenger, Kelly Taute of Merced, California, were declared dead at the scene about 54 minutes later. Taute was not wearing her seatbelt, but Petersen was.
