MARYVILLE, Mo. - Mosaic Medical Center – Maryville is dedicated to changing the risk of stroke.

For its efforts in optimizing stroke care, Mosaic Medical Center – Maryville has received the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines - Stroke Rural Recognition Silver award.

People in rural communities face significant health challenges, living an average of three years fewer than their urban counterparts and having a 40% higher likelihood of developing heart disease, along with a 30% increased risk for stroke mortality.

Lori Force, RN and stroke coordinator, emphasized the team's commitment to delivering exceptional care and improving patient outcomes by recognizing stroke symptoms and initiating timely treatment.

The American Heart Association recognizes rural hospitals' vital role in providing timely, evidence-based care.

The award highlights hospitals that excel in acute stroke care, including therapy, timely hospital transfers, screenings, and other critical performance metrics.
