ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The United Way of Greater St. Joseph announced that nearly 19,000 school supply items were donated for needy students during this year's Stuff the Bus drive.
Community members contributed a total of 18,962 items at both Walmart locations in St. Joseph, along with $1,700 in monetary donations.
Since its inception in 2009, the Stuff the Bus drive has collected over 300,000 school supply items. These supplies will be distributed through United Way partner agencies, including the Salvation Army.
The drive is supported by Mosaic Life Care, Walmart, and First Student bus company.
