ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art will host an opening reception for two new exhibitions on Friday, Sept. 20h, from 4 to 7 p.m.

The first exhibition, "From the Canoe: Steve Snell," features paintings and videos from Snell’s solo canoe trip along the entire length of the Missouri River.

His watercolors, many created using the river’s water, capture the spontaneous beauty of the changing landscapes along the river.

The second exhibition, "Draw Closer: Ruthie Ingram," highlights the artist’s work after her 40-year illustration career.

Focusing on figures and nature, Ingram’s paintings, pastels, and graphite drawings invite viewers to engage with her richly detailed subjects. Both exhibitions run from Sept. 21 through Nov. 3.
