DES MOINES, Iowa - Iowa hunters targeting migratory game birds must register for the Harvest Information Program this season.
This requirement applies to hunters pursuing not just ducks and geese, but also doves, woodcock, coots, rails, and snipe.
After registering, hunters must write the confirmation number on their license, print an updated license, or take a screenshot for proof.
The registration helps the Iowa Department of Natural Resources track migratory bird hunters, meeting federal requirements.
Registration can be completed via the Go Outdoors Iowa app or online at iowadnr.gov/waterfowl or gooutdoorsiowa.com.
