DES MOINES, Iowa - Iowa state parks are hosting their annual Volunteer Day on Saturday, September 28, and Iowans are invited to help care for the state's natural areas.

Volunteers will assist park staff with tasks like litter pick-up, painting, removing invasive species, and more, depending on each park's needs.

Participating parks include Bellevue, Geode, Lake Macbride, and Pikes Peak, among others.

The Iowa Dpeartment of Natural Resources says this is a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors while helping maintain Iowa’s parks and forests.
