JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Missouri Department of Conservation is reminding hunters of several regulation changes for the upcoming deer and turkey hunting seasons.
These changes include a new fall turkey permit, expanded Chronic Wasting Disease Management Zones, and new rules allowing drones to track wounded deer and turkeys.
For turkey hunting, the fall season is now split into archery and firearms portions, with a reduced harvest limit of two birds. Archery turkey season opens this Sunday, while the fall firearms turkey season runs from Oct. 1-31.
Deer hunters will see changes as well, with archery season running from this Sunday to Nov. 15, and firearms season starting with the Early Antlerless Portion on Oct. 11.
Hunters can now use drones to track wounded animals, and permit prices have increased. For more details on regulations, visit mdc.mo.gov.
