emergency

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly incident in DeKalb County.

Around 5 a.m. Sunday, 38-year-old Luci Pineda from Farmington, Minnesota, lost control of her 2000 Toyota 4Runner on I-35, just north of Cameron, causing it to overturn and come to rest upside down in the southbound lanes.

Pineda's passengers, Nexy Escobar and Yefri Salines, both from St. Paul, Minnesota, were injured and taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center, with Salines suffering serious injuries.

Just minutes later, a second crash occurred when a 2024 Ford Edge, driven by 34-year-old Archie Seneh of Kansas City struck Pineda and her overturned vehicle.

Pineda was pronounced dead at the scene. Three passengers in Seneh's vehicle, including a newborn, were injured and transported to hospitals in the area.
