Motorcyclist dies in rural Nebraska collision

ambulance emergency

MURRAY, Neb. - A motorcyclist was killed in a crash in rural Cass County over the weekend. The Cass County Sheriff's Office reports that the accident occurred shortly after 4 p.m. on Saturday on Highway 34/75, south of Kenosha Road.

Authorities say 55-year-old Shelly Hayes of Omaha was driving a 2015 GMC Terrain southbound when she attempted to turn into a driveway, crossing the path of a 2002 Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by 30-year-old Zachariah Unruh of Auburn.

The motorcycle collided with the GMC, ejecting Unruh into a nearby ditch. Unruh, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is ongoing, and charges are pending.
