Adopt-A-Family Christmas applications open next week

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - AFLCIO Community Services in St. Joseph is gearing up for its annual Adopt-A-Family Christmas program, with expectations to assist more families this year than last.

In 2023, the program served 894 families, a record number, and officials are predicting a similar, if not higher, demand for this year. To manage the increased need, the program will have new restrictions.

This year, only families with children and seniors living on disability will be eligible. Officials say this change helps prioritize households with children, ensuring they receive the help they need during the holiday season.

Applications open on Monday, October 28 and can be accessed online at helpmenow.org or picked up in person at the agency. The deadline for submissions is Friday December 6.
