Iowa DNR offering community tree planting grants

DES MOINES, Iowa - The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is offering grants for community tree plantings through the USDA Forest Service Inflation Reduction Act.

The Iowa Tree Planting Grant provides funds for tree purchases, mulch, and other planting needs.

Communities, volunteer groups, and service organizations can apply for grants ranging from $10,000 to $30,000 for planting projects in 2025 and 2026.

Applications are due by December 30, and recipients will be notified by January 15, 2025. For more information, visit the Iowa DNR Urban Forestry website.
