KING CITY, Mo. - The Missouri State Highway Patrol says two people are facing life-threatening injuries following a two-vehicle collision near King City.
The crash happened just before 6 p.m. on Friday, October 4, at the intersection of Missouri Route 48 and Route CC, about a mile west of town.
According to the Patrol, 74-year-old David Horsman of Clarksdale was turning his GMC pickup truck onto Route 48 when he failed to yield to an oncoming Chevrolet Silverado driven by 43-year-old Tiffany Cruz of Rea.
The two vehicles collided, blocking the highway. Linda Applegarth, a 71-year-old passenger in Cruz’s vehicle, was airlifted to Truman Medical Center in Kansas City with life-threatening injuries.
Horsman was transported to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, also in critical condition. Cruz sustained minor injuries and refused treatment on the scene.
