COLUMBUS, Neb. - Nebraska Public Power District has deployed a 15-person crew to Georgia to assist in restoring power after Hurricane Helene.
The team, consisting of 12 line technicians, a fleet technician, and two supervisors, left Thursday morning from the York Operations Center and will be working in the Augusta and Savannah areas.
NPPD is coordinating with Georgia Power, which reported over 141,000 customers without power as of Thursday. The crew includes technicians from various Nebraska locations, including Ainsworth, Norfolk, and Kearney.
