JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Governor Mike Parson has declared October as Farm to School and Early Care and Education (ECE) Month in Missouri.
The month celebrates the efforts of farmers, ranchers, and nutrition professionals who help provide healthy meals to students across the state.
In a press release, Agriculture Director Chris Chinn emphasized the importance of programs like Farm to School, which makes it easier to get nutritious, locally-grown products into the hands of students.
Schools and ECEs are encouraged to participate in a national "Crunch Off" by gathering students and community members to enjoy Missouri-grown products like apples. For more information, visit agriculture.mo.gov.
