Two seriously injured in wreck near Maryville

MARYVILLE, Mo. - A crash near Maryville sent three people to the hospital with injuries. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that the collision occurred around 11:35 a.m. on U.S. Highway 71, about a mile north of Maryville.

87-year-old Doris Hagey of Burlington Junction, was driving a 2012 Ford Explorer when she attempted to turn into the parking lot of Gray's Truck Stop and collided with a 2010 Chevy HHR driven by 57-year-old Jered Smith of Maryville.

Smith and his 27-year-old passenger, Levi Smith, both sustained serious injuries, while Hagey suffered moderate injuries. All three were transported to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph.
