WEST DES MOINES, Iowa- Hy-Vee is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its Veterans Day Breakfast, a tradition that began in 1999 at a Missouri store.
This year, all Hy-Vee stores will offer a free buffet-style breakfast for veterans and active-duty military next Monday, from 6 to 10 a.m.
In addition, veterans and military personnel will receive a 15% discount on grocery purchases that day at Hy-Vee, Dollar Fresh Market, and Hy-Vee Fast and Fresh locations.
Hy-Vee’s annual Homefront Round Up fundraiser is also underway, allowing customers to contribute to organizations supporting veterans and military families through November 17.
Hy-Vee will match donations up to 100,000 dollars, with proceeds benefiting groups like Hope for the Warriors and the American Red Cross.
