MSHP: Lathrop man killed in single-vehicle crash

LATHROP, Mo. - A fatal crash occurred southeast of Lathrop over the weekend.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 59-year-old man from Lathrop was driving eastbound on 240th Street around 12:30 p.m. Sunday when his 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier veered off the road.

The vehicle struck a guardrail, overturned, and hit a tree before coming to rest on its passenger side. The driver, who was not wearing a safety device, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Patrol has not yet identified the victim.
