MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Maryville Public Library has received a $50,000 grant from the Bolger Foundation to help restore or replicate its iconic 1912 windows.
The grant requires the library to raise an additional $200,000 for the project over the next two years through its Second Century Library Fund Foundation.
This window restoration marks the first step in a larger campaign to update the library’s historic downtown building, enhancing its public spaces for learning, information access, and small group meetings.
Library Director Stephanie Patterson emphasizes the urgency, as the original wood is deteriorating. Trustee and architect Scott Kuhlemeyer stresses the windows’ importance to the building’s historic character.
Board President Jim Rash views the project as an asset to Maryville’s downtown revitalization efforts. Donations are accepted by check to the Second Century Library Fund or through the library’s website.
