JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Changes to Missouri’s Pesticide Use Act, effective January 1, will impact certified pesticide applicators and dealers statewide.
Under the updated law, certified private applicators will no longer be allowed to supervise restricted-use pesticide applications—these tasks must now be done directly by certified applicators.
Current certified applicators have a "delayed" certification requirement, meaning they can operate under existing licenses until they expire.
Pesticide dealers will also face new rules, as they’ll only be able to sell restricted-use pesticides to other licensed dealers or certified applicators within the correct category, and individuals may no longer hold more than one Pesticide Dealer license.
The goal is to streamline safety and regulatory compliance in pesticide use across Missouri. More information can be found at agriculture.mo.gov.
