St. Joseph police investigating weekend homicide

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - A 36-year-old man from St. Joseph has died from wounds sustained in a shooting. The St. Joseph Police Department is investigating the weekend incident as a targeted homicide.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired near North 20th and Jules Street shortly after noon on Sunday. Upon arrival, they discovered the man inside a vehicle with a gunshot wound.

He was rushed to the hospital but later passed away. The victim's name has not been released. No suspects are currently in custody.

Police are urging anyone with information to contact the St. Joseph Police Department as the investigation continues.
