TRENTON, Mo. - The city of Trenton is revamping its Economic Development Tax plan, with plans to present it on April's ballot. City Administrator Ron Urton says they tried to pass this last year.
Urton explains that an educational campaign is underway to raise awareness and inform residents about the tax and its potential benefits.
The proposed tax would fund several key projects, including the development of farmland north of town, which could house the new fairgrounds.
Additionally, the funds would support infrastructure expansion to facilitate development in the area. Once the fairgrounds are relocated, the vacated site could be transformed into a ballpark complex for sporting events.
