ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The search for St. Joseph’s next City Manager has been narrowed to four finalists after a nationwide search that attracted 26 candidates from 15 states.
The City partnered with Strategic Government Resources, a consulting firm, to assist in the search and hiring process.
The four finalists—Robert Cowell Junior, Jason Gage, Darron Leiker, and Mike Schumacher—bring decades of experience in city management and leadership roles across the country.
They will participate in an onsite interview process on Tuesday, December 10 and Wednesday, December 11, which includes a community tour, engagement sessions with city staff and stakeholders, and interviews with the City Council.
Each candidate has a strong track record in public service, with expertise ranging from strategic planning and economic development to public safety and infrastructure improvement.
