DES MOINES, Iowa - The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is hiring summer Water Patrol Officers to assist with ensuring safety on Iowa's waterways.
These temporary positions involve high responsibility, including enforcing navigation and fishing regulations, educating the public, and responding to emergencies such as accidents and missing persons.
Water Patrol Officers serve as critical frontline responders, offering public assistance and safety education while helping to create a safe recreational environment.
In the KXCV/KRNW listening area, the DNR is looking for officers in Pottawattamie County for Lake Manawa and Carter Lake.
Officers may be stationed at various locations across the state, including popular spots such as the Iowa Great Lakes in Dickinson County, Mississippi River pools, Coralville Reservoir, and Saylorville Lake.
Applications for these positions are open until the end of day on Sunday, December 15. Applicants are encouraged to specify only the areas where they are willing and able to work, as housing is not provided.
