ROCK PORT, Mo. - A serious crash involving two semis on I-29 near Rock Port sent one driver to the hospital over the weekend.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the crash happened just after midnight Sunday in Atchison County.
Authorities say a 2013 semi driven by 28-year-old Corning, Iowa, resident attempted to pass a 2002 semi but struck the rear of its towed unit.
The impact caused the 2013 semi to veer off the road, overturn, and come to rest on its side. The 2002 semi, driven by 67-year-old Miami, Florida, resident, came to a controlled stop in the driving lane.
The 2013 semi driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph.
