JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Missouri students are invited to get creative and help fight litter by joining the 2025 “Yes You CAN Make Missouri Litter-Free” trash-can-decorating contest.

Organized by the Missouri Department of Transportation, the contest is open to students in grades K-through-12 and runs through March 14.

Participants will decorate large trash cans with the “No MOre Trash!” logo and a litter prevention message, using creative materials to inspire cleaner communities.

Schools or homeschool programs can submit one entry per category: K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12. First-place winners in each category will receive $200 for their schools, with a chance to win the grand prize of $600 and a trophy.

There’s no entry fee, and submissions must include an entry form, photos, and a release form.
