MARYVILLE, Mo. - Nodaway County is teaming up with the University of Missouri Extension to launch the MO EATs initiative, a new program aimed at strengthening local food systems.
As part of the statewide Missouri Rural Food Access Partnership, MO EATs focuses on improving food access, supporting local agriculture, and driving economic growth.
The program will engage the community through surveys, focus groups, and planning sessions to identify barriers and opportunities in Nodaway County’s food system.
Goals include recruiting food retailers, enhancing local crop and livestock production, and supporting value-added agricultural businesses.
MO EATs also aligns with statewide efforts to build resilient and equitable food systems over the next three years.
Residents are encouraged to share their input during the planning process to shape practical solutions tailored to the community’s needs.
